Rennes les Bains
About 15km from Esperaza. Rennes les Bains in the Aude is one of my favourite
places. They have a large open air swimming pool which is supplied from the hot
springs in the area. The water is normally about 32 degrees and there is a jacuzzi
and hammam too. A great place to go and relax...even out of season. I find I get
more swimming done in December as I'm not too keen to get out of the water :)
The main purpose of the village is the health spa which is connected with the
swimming pool. There are also restaurants in the 2 hotels of the village and a
nice picnic area down by the river where you can also sit under the hot water
coming out of the hill.
